Vitamin D Supplement for Tiels?

Would like to know the latest research on supplementing Vitamin D since there is considerable research now on humans needing five to ten times the previous recommended amount for anyone living in less than sunny conditions.

If this is true for humans, then should it not also apply to our feathered friends as well? And shouldn’t the feed companies like Harrison, etc be hiking up their Vit D accordingly?

Note: I just posted a comment about supplementing tiels water with a few drops of organic raw applecider vinegar for birds with any kind of fungal issue….Also a cautionary to avoid petting birds with the nose dueto common human fungus in nose and sinus.  We lost three birds before we discovered these hints.
