Are two perches enough for my cockatiels cage? I also have a nail-trimming ladder and a swing in there?

Question by McKayla: Are two perches enough for my cockatiels cage? I also have a nail-trimming ladder and a swing in there?
I also put cuttlebone, 3 fun toys and a peanut butter seed snack….oh, and of course food and water!

Yes and no, its enough, but you should also be taking them out every day to play with you and have a fly around. I saw in the shops like a jungle-gym for the birds and sits on a high stand, you could leave them there for hours to play. Try and get them out as often as possible…. how would you like to be couped up in your bedroom all day every day???

I’d say at least two, but if you use long rope perches it’s better than wooden ones. My cage is slightly larger than yours and I have a rope perch that goes from the top of one corner to the bottom of the cage’s opposite corner, and a pedi-perch which is very therapeutic for their feet. They perch on their food dishes and hang from their toys so they really don’t need more than that. I also have small perches on the outside of the cage for my little guy to rest on while he’s playing outside his cage.

I’d say 2 inside (not including that one on top), perhaps a corner for the second one. It’ll give the bird a little bit of variety. No more than two, though, so the bird will have some room to move around.

how to get my cockateil to stop using the bathroom on her perches?

she always poops on them and im afraid shes going to get sick cause then she walks in it i always clean them off but when i come back she did it again what can i do

What is the best placement for my bird’s perches in her cage?

She is a cockatiel. I’m curious how to arrange her perches/ food cup and toys so she is most comfortable. Are there any guildlines I should know about? She does not fly in her cage, so her cage is more vertical than horizontal.

My cockatiel always wants out of her new bird cage and won’t eat from her food bowl?

I’ve had my cockatiel for 7 years, and i love her so much! so i went and bought her a new, bigger cage with new perches and everything…she seems to always want to be out of it (more than when she was in her old cage) and hang out with me 24/7 lol. is this because she doesn’t like her new cage?
also…she’ll eat her calcium perch, millet spray, etc, but she won’t eat out of her seed cup. she’d even go to the bottom of the cage and eat her poo :( i showed her where it is and let her watch me pour seeds in it, but she still won’t eat out of it. it’s so weird (and i can tell she’s really hungry!) i’m not sure if she still can’t find it or what but cockatiels are intelligent.
i don’t know if she just needs time to adjust or…?
thanks!

Cockatiel cage question?

Is this a good cage for a cockatiel?

http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2755099

Also please pick out some toys and other supplies i need from there too.

I will choose best answer. The best answer should have opinion of cage, some toys, perches, and other things.

If the cage isn’t good, which one is good?

Thanks to all answers!
