What happens when a baby cockatiel comes out of the nest for the first time?

Question by Taylor iz my husband!!!: What happens when a baby cockatiel comes out of the nest for the first time?
When the babies first come out of the nest, do they land on a perch or fall to the ground? I also hear that as soon as the babies have fledged the parents will start teaching them to eat seed. Do the parents do this at the food container or on the bottom of the cage?
Thank You

Unless you are trying to breed baby cockatiels, don’t worry about it. They lay eggs all the time. You can just take the eggs out and not worry about it. You probably don’t want to have to go through raising baby birds all the time. Taking the eggs away as soon as they lay them isn’t any different than getting your cat or dog fixed anyway. And unless your other bird is a male, it wouldn’t get fertilized and woudn’t ever hatch.

i want to tame a cockateil so wanna take out one from the nest so will it be ok will the mother be angry?

well duh she’ll be pissed! and DO NOT DO THAT!!!! all you will do is upset the mother and possibly drive her away from the rest of her chicks, and there is a 99% chance the baby you take will die. so in your selfishness you will more then likely kill all the chicks and upset the mother horribly. go and buy a cockateil if you want one. I don’t even think what you are doing is legal. DON’T BE AN A**! LEAVE THE BIRDS ALONE! THEY WILL BE MUCH HAPPIER WITHOUT YOU IN THE PICTURE! if you really like these animals you will do the right thing and let them be.

i have a cockatiel and he likes to sit in his food dish.my ? is would it hurt if i made him a nest?

is it normal for a bird to nest in their food?

Shes a cockatiel. Shes been doing it for a while. She hasnt laid an egg yet. (i dunno if shes “been” with my male without me knowing so i dont know if its just an unfertilized egg or not). But is is normal for a bird to want to nest in her food. i mean ive tried making her a little bowl with some nesting material in it but she just keeps going for the bowl with food in it.
is it better to get them a box or some sort of nest?

Good Idea to give cockatiel nest to lay infertile eggs in?

I have a cockatiel, she is 3 or 4 years of age. She has no toys in her cage at the moment that could trigger her wanting to lay infertile eggs. She’s layed about 10 eggs so far, and I’ve taken out some of them (she has three right now). But the thing is, she doesn’t even bother to try to mother them. She never sits on them, just lays them. And they are just sitting where she layed them. She has no interest whatsoever in them. But she continues to lay eggs. I’ve tried shortening her day hours, feeding her very healthy foods and such, I know WHAT i can do. thats not what im asking.

My question is if i should try to give her a little nest that she can see her eggs in..will this make her lay more or helo her stop? Pros, cons? Please, your help would be appreciated.

Thank you!
