Cockatiels are active and playful and should have a large cage. The follow is for one Cockatiel, it may need to be bigger for two. Opinions on the minimum size varies, but a good rule of thumb is at least 20 inches by 20 inches wide, and 26 inches tall as a bare minimum. I have a website it is www.jonesbirds.com, if you would like to check it out. Also we have started a yahoo group the name of the group is the Greater Charlotte Cage Bird Society, if you would like to join our group it’s free. below is a link to our group.

Just a Couple of cockatiel questions?
Category: Cockateil Toys Q&A
I am a first time cockatiel owner with not much knowledge of the animals so just want to make sure of a few things/
1. My cockatiel is 9 months old and has started losing alot of feathers, could this be down to her pulling them out (i have her out at least 2 hours a day and have many toys in her cage) or could it be late moulting?
2. How do you give a cockatiel a bath? (and should it be done in winter months because i really thinks she needs one lol)
And any other information you think a first time cockatiel owner should know.
Cheers
