Clicker Training: Kiwi Cockatiel puts money in the bank

We remain responsible forever of what we have tame. dont forget it!! dont buy bird, ADOPT! Comments and Rating welcome !!! Kiwi learned how to put cents in a bank. The hole in the bank is not straight, so it’s more difficult. Usualy I congratulate her after each one, but this time I did’nt say a word, and she just added one after the other until, she’s stop and look at me; “It is OK? or what?” IMPORTANT: I dont use real money, because it’s dangerous for metal poisoning. I use plastic ones found at the dollars store.

Cockatiel Clicker training?

well i want to train my cockatiel and a lot of people recommend using a clicker. i just wanted to ask if i could use a pen rather than a clicker. if it would be as effective. i dont want to use the click of my voice because some times my voice will have different sounds which will confuse the bird
(question below me )
the point of the “clicker” is to make the bird do what you want and as soon as you click it he knows a treat is on its way.
all im asking is can i use a click of a pen? ill be using the same basics for a clicker (does something right , click , reward)

Clicker Training: Cockatiel bring back all toys in my hand

We remain responsible forever of what we have tame. dont forget it!! dont buy bird, ADOPT! Kiwi learned very well how to bring me back all her toys in my hand. Kiwi me rapporte tout ses anneaux dans ma main ;) first find a good treat that he likes. I use millet or budgee seeds, since she having pellet as her daily food. And then, there is several steps the bird should master to get to there. 1- Click when she touch/take the ring 2- drop the ring in my hand (I put my hand under) 3- put the ring in my hand 4- fetch the ring to put it in my hand 5- fetch any object to put in my hand Do small sceance of training (~10 min) once a day (each step took me around 2-3 days to learn) Bird have excellent memory, you dont need to practice everyday, he will remembber each step learned very well. Do positive training, help the bird to have as many “successes” as possible. ,Reward each little increment along the way. It’s much better to guide him to the right response than to have to correct the bird for a wrong one. If the bird does not do something right, try it again another way so that the bird can be rewarded for the correct moves. Never be negative (say NO) if the bird get stressed or distracted. Training teaches a bird discipline, and as you spend more time observing your bird and its reactions, you will understand it better, and the bird will at the same time also learn better how to respond to you and what pleases you.

Fly to me – training Pearl without a clicker

Teaching Pearl to trust me and fly to me without using a clicker. Only by using spray millet (the food im giving to her) as reinforsment. The point here is for her to want to come to me, insted of me to her. The more willing she is to come to me, the more trust she will gain on her own. *Its up to her to overcome the fear* It litearly took me the length of this video to get her flying to me. I have not trained with her since the last video where I did the trust exercise and got to pet her.
