the rule of thumb for a cage for any bird is the bigger the better, get the biggest one you can afford for the space you have…. a 24x24x34 will be good for 1 cockatiel that gets out of the cage every day, but not for one that doesnt get to come out.. i have 4 cockatiels in a 2x4x6ft.. and they have room to fly and get to come out of the cage every day, also have a single cockatiel in a 24x34x34 and he comes out every day

I found my cockatiel on the bottom of her cage, and now she’s barely breathing..?
Category: Cockateil Cage Q&A
Question by still waiting: I found my cockatiel on the bottom of her cage, and now she’s barely breathing..?
My husband took her out of the cage and held her against his chest, and she seems to be moving a little more. But her breathing is so shallow it’s hard to tell. She seemed dead at first, but now she’s just lethargic and sickly. What could be wrong and what can I do? This is my three year old’s bird…Thanks!
It’s 2 in the morning! There is no vet I could take her to…be realistic, here…
There aren’t any here…I’ve already looked into that. I wouldn’t be asking if I had any other options.
Thanks for your help, but the bird just went into convulsions and died. She’ll have a proper burial later this afternoon.
