Hi i have 2 cockatiel 1 a boy and 1 a girl. They are both living in the same cage. I was told that my birds wont be able to sing to me they would just talk in bird language. I really want my two birds to sing what should i do?

I have two parakeets and a friend of mine is giving me a baby cockatiel. I mean, baby-baby, as in is still growing his feathers. I want to wait a little bit before introducing him, but I’m worried that the parakeets might not like him or might do him harm.

Would they get along or should I invest in a second cage?

get two cages and put them next to each other to introduce them to each other and depending on what happens when they are near each other will let you know if they can be put in the same cage. Introduce them to living together gradually.

I’m going to be getting a cockatiel soon and I wondered whether it was a good cage for a bird that size.

Also, does it keep in the mess as it claims on the website?

I think thats the one I have. The one with tall clear plastic all around the bottom? I have that cage for my tiel. He really likes it and so do I. It does keep a lot of the mess in. Of course it can’t keep every piece of seed and dander in the cage, but it helps a ton. I would definately get it if I were you. I haven’t been dissapointed.

i have a peal cockateil and i have had him for around 3 years now! and he is very tamed and loves to be on my shoulder.any reasons why his feathers in the back of his nack would fall out?

molting! thats where it starts. or he’s plucking them, but if he doesn’t screech, then he’s molting. hope this helps!

A cockatiel “might” be ok. But basically it’s not a good idea to mix breeds of birds unless they are babies. The reason?? More often than not, one will try to kill the other. Simply put.

i’m thinking about buying a lovebird, but if i change my mind i might get a cockatiel. And i will cover the cage at night because my rooms seems to be very cold at night …but if i do this will i need a bird night light? if so then what kind?

No birds will settle and sleep at night if it is dark. You definitely don’t want to give them a night light if you want them to sleep.

2 ringnecked doves, one quite old and feeble, beak is crossed and should probably be trimmed? 2 budgies, 1 cockateil, 1 lovebird. It is my understanding that some of these birds are not really compatible, but they’ve been together 2 years, and seem to get along ok. They have been fed only wild bird seed, doesn’t seem right to me. Can I put a potted tree in with them, instead of dead branches? Only the doves are tame, can I tame the others? I want to do right by these guys but they are not dogs or cats …….I don’t even know what I don’t know at this point!
