Super market food or pet store food. for my cockatiel?

Can I feed my cockatiel dried fruit from the store, or do I have to buy it at a pet store. Is there that big of a diffrence ? Also can I feed him dried peppers that you buy in the store.
I havent done yet just wondering ?
If you buy the stuff at the pet store it is already cut up into smaller pieces and comes with a hefty price tag. I don’t know about peppers. Mine don’t seem to care for fruit much and usually leave it alone.
Read the ingredients. Make sure it just contains the dried fruit, no sugars, no waxes just 100% pure fruit. The ONLY ingredient on the list should be the fruit.. Yes he can eat dried peppers. I have a list in my photo bucket of foods birds can and can not eat I’ll paste the link at the bottom. What Ive noticed with all my birds (but I do not own a cockatiel) they pefer fresh over dried.

i give my birds fresh and dried fruits from the grocery store.as for the peppers,mine go nuts over them,both bell and hot peppers.the hot peppers i dry out by hanging them to dry with clothes pins on hangers or string them up with twisty ties.my tiels used to fight over the hot peppers so i have to make sure i have enough to give them each one.also you can dry your own fruit in a dehidrator or in the oven on low temps for a few hours.im sure you can find instructions on the net.
Either one actually. (smiling) But be advised that buying from the supermarket is going to be less expensive than buying from a petshop. I would recommend though to get your ‘tiels pellets from the petstore and supplement his diet with the dried fruit that you are purchasing from the Supermarket.
I’m not sure if you are buying dried fruit as per your birds preference, or for yours….but know that ‘tiels in general love fresh fruit and fresh veggies. Giving them human foods like cooked eggs, fish, chicken, etc is also good for them and they love it! Dried peppers are great to, but in general, you will find that they really don’t love them like some other types of parrots…..at least mine don’t!

pet stores have more of a turn over in pet supplies than your local grocers do.. Always look at the expiration date on all foods that you buy for yourself and your pets.
My vote is pet store food. You can get dome frozen peas and carrots in cubes and mix it in their food. Dried fruit is good, but more specific to the bird. (What they like and don’t like) Experiment and see what happens.
Stick to the seed, peas and carrots, and some dried fruit thats cubed. No coconut, prunes, or fancy stuff. Stick to the basics – apples, bananas, pineapple, guava, etc…. Not sure they would go for a dried pepper.
You should feed your tiel with tiel specific seed and then supplement with fresh fruits/vegetables.
