Should I get a new cage for my cockatiel?

Category: Cockateil Cage Q&A

He is about 15 years old and the cage I got him in is kinda small. I want to get him a bigger cage, but I dont want to upset him. What should I do?

if you want to get him a new cage, keep the old one, and slowly introduce him to the new cage. play with him near it and let him sit on it, but let him be near the old cage too. make the new cage a positive thing and eventually he will like it.

If the cage is small, why wouldn’t you get a larger one? I can only imagine how disturbed the bird must feel, wasting it’s life away with a fool that doesn’t have the respect to get him a larger cage out of kindness.

My sister and mom have cockatiels, and I’ve never noticed any differences in behavior when they were introduced to new cages.
