I can never tell when it is really empty, so I guess. Do you have any suggestions? I have had him for 2 years from a baby.

    Daily.
Just give him what would be enough for the day and check it from time to time during the day for a refill.
Empty in the morning and refill with fresh food.

There is a way to tell if your Cockatiel’s food bowl is really just the hulls of the seeds. Seed hulls look very flimsy and messy, while good seed looks full and whole. You should change his food bowl at the end of each day.
