I’d say 2 inside (not including that one on top), perhaps a corner for the second one. It’ll give the bird a little bit of variety. No more than two, though, so the bird will have some room to move around.

Atleast 3-4 with different surfaces. Birds need to get excercise and not get bored with all of the same furniture in their house. Also get lots of colors. Real tree branches would be fine but make sure you clean them of their bugs and remove most of the leaves.

I agree w The Pirate. Besides a wood perch you could try a rope perch as well. Or check at a hardware type store (Lowe’s, Home Depot) for a shape other than round. There are oval and square sided dowels. Gives your bird’s feet some exercises to perch on different materials, shapes and sizes.

that is a nice cage and I am happy people are taking better care of there pets now a days. I would put no more then three in the cage. Make sure they are all different. Stay away from the concrete peaches they are to hard on the birds feet. Natural wood perches are great for birds but make sure you get them from non poisonous trees. cockatiels love swings so there should be one in every cage. there are many different perches out there but you have to be careful do not get dowel perches they are to smooth. your cockatiel will chew on any perch you get them so make sure they are bird safe. They also should have a cuddle bone in the cage at all times to help with there beak.

First off, great choice for a cage! Well, birds should have a variety of perches. They’re pretty much in their cages all day, so good perches are very essential to a birds psychical health!

I would say a bird should have at least 3 different perches in his or her cage. Not all perches have to go all the way across, however (there isn’t always room for that). Each perch should have a different texture (stay away from cement and sand perches because these actually irritate a birds foot) and should each be different diameters and widths.

I like pedi perches because they help keep my birds nails trim (that doesn’t mean they never need to be clipped though) and it’s a good for their feet. I also think birds should always have natural wood perches. Those are great. Even better ones are the kinds that are twisted looking because these make your bird exercise their feet while perching which is always a good thing! Never buy plastic perches, those do nothing for a birds feet. Calcium perches are nice too, the bird can get calcium from the perch, and they also come in different shapes and sizes.
