“CHASE” MY NEW COCKATIEL

This is my bird “Chase” two days after getting him. 2-27-09. He is about 12 or 13 weeks old. He had a tiny piece of cedar bedding in his right eye the day I went to get him and his third eyelid was very inflamed and irritated, he was very scared of humans. I was told he was a biter, but all he has done to me is just a nip. I believe LOVE will heal all! He has started to sing mostly around 11 to 11:30 at night, but today he started to “tune the pipes” as I call it right after I took the sheet off his cage! We are still working on getting him out of his cage- and thats where I got his name from, I had to chase him around it to get him out, but now I am working with him more slowly and he’s starting to understand that it’s not such a bad thing to have “mom” reach into the cage and get him out, he already knew how to “step up” when I got him. He will sit on my shoulder and play with my hair, although I don’t think he likes my ear because he hisses at it, LOL- and he will hiss when I sniff too! I was told he had bit a guy that was careing for him before I ever got there so I figure Chase has decided that I’m pretty cool and has adopted me! It’s a great feeling. When I have his cage door open he climbs out and to the top of it and he will preen and sing and just talk to himself and just be cute. I will post more videos to show his color change (he’s a white headed grey) and the growth of his wing and tail feathers- speaking of tail feathers, somehow he lost his tail feathers …
