can i put a cockateil and love bird in the same cage?

my one bird (cockateil) is very lonely. im gone most of the day so his only company are the cats. i want to buy another bird for him and ive always wanted a love bird, so can i put them in the same cage? if not, what kind of bird would u recomend?
i think u shouldnt. buy a another cockateil! if yours is a male or female,buy its opposite sex!
I wouldn’t. Lovebirds can be aggressive little guys. Additionally, birds are very territorial over their cages; if you want them to bond, you could try putting them on the same play-stand together but make sure you’re supervising their play.
