Here is our Cockateil Jeba, all excited to see my dad. He loves Dad, and you can see and hear him whistling and talking!

Vitamin D Supplement for Tiels?
Would like to know the latest research on supplementing Vitamin D since there is considerable research now on humans needing five to ten times the previous recommended amount for anyone living in less than sunny conditions.
If this is true for humans, then should it not also apply to our feathered friends as well? And shouldn’t the feed companies like Harrison, etc be hiking up their Vit D accordingly?
Note: I just posted a comment about supplementing tiels water with a few drops of organic raw applecider vinegar for birds with any kind of fungal issue….Also a cautionary to avoid petting birds with the nose dueto common human fungus in nose and sinus. We lost three birds before we discovered these hints.

Cockateils and Parakeets- food, cage
Hi All-
So I am a recent cockateil owner. About 2 months ago an adult male was left in a box in my neighborhood and while walking my dog I came across it. He has become a great addition to our family but I have some questions. The first is that I have 2 parakeets. Would it be safe to put them in the same cage? If so, how do I go about doing that. Also- what is the best food to give them? Will they eat human food and what is the process for that. I appreciate anyone’s input, educated or not!

My Baby Cockatiel Gus! He’s a Real Show Bird!
this is my 5 month old cockatiel gus. he’s a white face cinnamon pearl and he’s the funniest bird ever. He’s obsessed with anything we eat. He gets furious whenever i’m cuddling him or scratching him and someone else walks in he starts shrieking. he does the same thing with my dog!! He’s adorable!!!
