My cockatiel steps up when im outside in the park with him, but not out of the cage?
He is 4 months old, he knows how to step up outside the cage but doesnt when he’s inside, we have to like crab him to come out of the cage, (so sometimes we just dont take him out), when we leave the door open, he wont come out. but he likes it out. lol. he only steps up when im outside int he park with him but not at home or in his cage. any suggestions?

What is a good bird for intermediates?
My cockatiel just recently died and I am in search for a new bird. I want one with good, sophisticated personality but not too big like a Macaw or African Grey. I’ve already got a huge cage that is even big for a Macaw. Please give the minimum dimensions for the cage size anyways. I want to know if it needs anything special and what toys you advise me to get.
1month 2 week old Baby cockatiel just recovered from crop stasis and is still backing up food?
Just two days ago we took my baby cockatiel in to the vet and had his crop drained because he had crop stasis (food backing up in his crop and not processing right). We’ve been giving him his medicine twice a day as prescribed (Metaclopramide and Nystatin) but he’s still backing up and getting more tired and less active, like what he was doing before we found out he had crop stasis. My vet says because he’s one of the abandoned chicks by the mother he has a 50/50 chance to survive but does that mean the medicine will have no effect on him?
More importantly, is their any way we can perhaps drain his crop without having the vet do that? Is their any way we can feed him something that won’t counter react with his medicine that will help the digestive track?
Note: We’ve been massaging his crop and giving him gerber applesauce and have already tried pepto bismul already too but isn’t effecting his digestive track and re-regulating it.
