Can someone help me with my cockatiel question?
I’m going to be a first time bird owner soon. I have already done a lot of research, but was wondering if there was anything very important I needed to know. This is the cage I will be getting fro my two cockatiels http://www.kingscages.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductID=ELT_101
What kind of toys do I need for my cockatiels? OH! And what type of food should I buy for them?
- Cockatiels ROCK!!!
When you buy a new cage, my cockatiel is a little spooked ,will he adjust?
I’ve read several books I own and on line but I like you guy’s opinions.
I got a comment from someone suggesting I don’t research some of my questions. (not true) Is there anything wrong with me asking you all as well?

Can my cockatiel go one day without food?
Last time I bought food in bulk. And had stored some in a big coffee can. Anyway I opened it tonight and it appeared to have some kind of boweevel in it so I put it outside to feed to the wil birds. But I had already dumped her food and cleaned the bowl. I just want to know if she will be alright until I get to the pet store, to buy her food, after work tomorrow.
thanks.. I have a maximillious pionus and I put some of her food in the cage with the other one. I opened some peanuts for her and I think she will be ok but it will be more than twelve hours. But the pet store doesn’t open before work and I can’t come home for lunch (I work too far away).

is it important to have a bedding in the cage for a cockatiel?
it almost seems pointless (without an explanation) when the cage will allow everything to fall thru into the tray under the cage. he is only in the cage to sleep and stays on his perch. i do have newspaper in there, but only for shredding (its not covering the whole bottom). serious answers only-please. this bird IS my life.

How do I keep my cockatiel from flying in my food when eating?
Even after he eats his bird seeds he keeps flying on my head or right in my plate whenever I have food for myself. Sometimes I may offer him my food but he doesn’t take most of the time.
It’s just every time he see or hear me smacking on something he becomes a pest and I have to wave him away in mid flight. I try to do everything I can to keep him away from me except knock him outta the air so I can eat in peace. He’s a free bird and roam around the house and if I put him in the cage and lock him in he becomes restless and agitated to the point of injury. Any advice?
